Staff retirees from Berkeley may return to work on campus for a limited period when the University needs their skills for temporary staff positions. Encore Bears was designed as a one-year pilot program that responds to the needs of hiring managers by providing a matching service which vets the prior experience of recent retirees, and connects highly-qualified retirees with campus units with immediate business needs.

Program Policy

Encore Bears focuses on positions for which campus managers indicated they have the greatest need. These are non-represented positions at the Professional, Supervisory, and Manager levels.
